workshop fred smeijers „schriftgestaltung mit hilfe von schablonentechnik” datum_21. und 23. märz 2006 zeit_13:00 – 18:00 uhr ort_die graphische kosten_60 €, für mitglieder und studenten 30 € type is in principle not much more than a collection of shapes stored in a database. the aim of this workshop is to show how to start the creation of a new type design with help of stencils/stencilled patterns cut out of paper or film. the ideal situation would be that towards the second part of the workshop, the participants would have the chance to digitize their shapes. i want to demonstrate that stencilling, as a technique, has the advantage of being applicable and understandable by anyone, initiated and uninitiated alike. making stencils also means working in analogue way and that can be helpful as well. the workshop would focus on stencilling as an aid for type design. der workshop ist von fred smeijers sowohl für anfängerinnen als auch für fortgeschrittene konzipiert und wird auch teilweise und/oder nach bedarf in deutscher sprache gehalten. |
