Sabine Kienzer, freelance journalist, curator and cultural manager, contributor to various art magazines and catalogues, editorial director of ›splace – digitales magazin‹ at the university of art and design linz, exhibition series ›art & function‹, editor-in-chief of the multilingual orf series ›donaudialog‹, coordinator and project manager of the journalist network ›milena‹, ›ausgeliefert – ein kunstprojekt an der schnittstelle zwischen wirtschaft und kunst‹ (awarded the dachstein cult award). curator of the transdisciplinary and experimental symposium ›konkrete poesie und so‹ (concrete poetry and so) in 2021, as well as the group exhibition ›konkrete poesie‹ (concrete poetry) at the kunsthaus muerz gallery; the exhibition focused on concrete poetry and thus on the relevance of language and text in the work of visual artists.

Claudia Dzengel, freelance designer, calligrapher and lettering artist since 1997, creates individual commissioned works and artistic lettering, writes live at events and teaches at various universities, giving workshops in schools, museums and her studio in vienna. her books ›kalligrafie und kreatives schreiben für kinder/calligraphy and creative writing for children‹ and ›kalligrafie ist ein kinderspiel/calligraphy is child’s play‹ have received multiple awards. she is exhibiting a selection of her calligraphic lettering, text variations and originals. stylistically, her works range from highly gestural designs to small-scale, clear and linear forms.

Lothar Heinzle
… es gibt nichts neues unter der sonne
Lothar Heinzle staged his land art work ›…es gibt nichts neues unter der sonne/…there is nothing new under the sun‹ 2022 in a remote mountain stream in the rungelin forest, using thirty stones weighing several tonnes, inscribed with the last part of a biblical quote from the wise Kohelet: ›what has been will be again, what has been done will be done again: there is nothing new under the sun‹. he distributed this text letter by letter over a distance of half a kilometre. the central point of this project in almost untouched nature is a particularly exposed monolith that towers on a small plateau and seems to overlook the entire gorge. it bears the inscription ›windhauch/breath of wind‹ – a term that opens up complex associations.

Sonja Knecht

Sonja Knecht, was born in indonesia, grew up in venezuela and is at home in the german language. after almost 25 moves in 30 years, she settled in berlin. parallel to her work as a copywriter and text lecturer, she devotes herself to her language-based art. she works with the materiality of language. she explores the verbal, visual and vocal properties of words, how they interact – and how we interact with them.
›aufhören‹ – two groups of works address the dilemma of stopping: what do we do when we don't succeed, when we want to stop but can't? how do we continue? what drives us? when is the right moment to stop? as a further level of resonance and reflection, she (with guests) reads from her experimental poetry: sound poetry on au. poems about stopping. so that we don't stop stopping.

acht zeilen / eight lines
Irena Pejčić installs ›acht zeilen/eight lines‹, typopoetry between body and politics. selected poems from six transdisciplinary art projects. each poem consists of eight lines, deliberately concise and rhythmically set, a typographic intervention in language, space and body politics. each poem is accompanied by a photographic work that visually and atmospherically expands the context. the works address themes such as misogyny, the legacy of war, cultural tradition and national narratives. the clarity of the words used contrasts with their ambiguity. the exhibition is a visual reading and a silent confrontation.
