„the making of ‚the beatles’ london’”

in the 1980s piet schreuders collaborated with beatles experts mark lewisohn and adam smith on the
book „the beatles’ london”. it came out in 1994.

fourteen years later, in 2008, a new edition – revised and updated – came off the press. it had a new
format and a new design created by schreuders and sonja van hamel. the book describes 476 locations
in london, england where the beatles performed, recorded, were photographed, visited, drank, ate,
danced, were filmed, etc. it is illustrated with numerous maps and photographs, including many
	„then-and-now” comparisons.

	how was this book created?
which detective skills were employed to find these locations?
how did the three authors collaborate?
how did they recreate the photographs?
how did the book design evolve?

the presentation includes rarely seen photos and contact sheets, drawings, film clips, and work photos.
